This delicious Maca Power Breakfast Smoothie will give you energy and stamina for a busy day ahead.

Maca is an adaptogenic herb from Peru that helps to regulate the adrenals, hormones and nervous system – improving energy, stamina, mood and even libido. It has a sweet, earthy flavour that can be an acquired taste for some – although the other ingredients in this recipe completely mask the taste.

Baobob is an African fruit that has been used medicinally for centuries and is a great source of fibre, alkalising, energy boosting minerals and antioxidants. Boabob is also high in Vitamin C which is needed during times of stress. Its mild citrus taste is a great addition to smoothies.

The amount of protein in this recipe will help sustain your cortisol levels throughout the morning, which is helpful if youʼre under a lot of stress. A protein rich breakfast can also switch your body into fat burning mode, so youʼll lose any extra weight youʼre carrying as a side effect too (bye-bye, muffin top!).

Maca Power Breakfast Smoothie

Total time: 5 mins

Ingredients
400ml coconut water or pure water
¼ cup of almonds or walnuts
1 teaspoon of Maca powder
1 serve of Whey protein powder
1 tablespoon of Baobob power
1 handful of spinach
1 punnet of strawberries/blueberries (organic) or 1 banana
1/4 avocado

Instructions
Place all ingredients into a high-speed blender or smoothie maker.
Blend until smooth.

Serve and enjoy!
